Quick answer
Western astrology maps the planets at your birth onto 12 signs and 12 houses. BaZi converts your birth moment into eight Chinese calendar characters and reads them through the Five Elements. Both describe personality, but BaZi puts extra weight on element balance and 10-year timing.
